Located in North East Victoria & Southern N.S.W, our playground is the upper reaches of the Murray River and the surrounding mountains, forests and hidden valleys. The river sparkles mountain fresh; an enticing invitation to explore by canoe, fish, photograph, or simply relax. At Snowy Mountains Holidays we will tailor a holiday for your total enjoyment.

We are in the heart of one of Australia’s blue ribbon trout locales. Not surprising when you consider that the immediate region has 180 km’s of mountain-fed rivers and streams and numerous lakes and pondages, all in idyllic locations.

Your guide, Ron Vise, has 40 yrs fly fishing experience. Lessons and equipment hire are available for the absolute beginner to the experienced angler. Trout weigh from 500grams to 2.5kg with a few monsters taken on occasions.

We cater for spin or fly fishing. All guided fishing tours include a canoe float trip along with lunch. (Note the fishing season is from October to June).

Services & Facilities

Lodge: Our cottages combine character with comfort. They feature fully equipped kitchens, separate bedrooms and modern bathrooms. All linen is provided. The cottages are cosy in winter and cool in summer, with verandahs offering views of the Towong Valley and the Upper Murray River.

Boats: What better way to explore the river than by canoe. Drift lazily in the dappled light. Plenty of time to throw in a line, swim or capture the moment on film. Our guided canoe tours include all equipment and a delicious lunch. No experience is necessary - 8 people limit.

Transport: The Upper Murray also offers great cycling. Valley roads have maximum view and minimum traffic. Hire one of our bikes or book on a tour with our guide to explore the hidden valleys, views and charming country pubs. Lunches and drop-off and pick-up services are available.
