Macka's Barra Camp - WA

Macka has been guiding since 1991 beginning in the northern territory at well known fishing locations including Barra Base and the MacAuthur River System.

Since establishing Macka’s Barra Camp in 1995, Macka has become renowned for his professional innovative guiding techniques with both local and international clientele.

After being picked up from the airport or your place of accommodation in Kununurra, you will be transferred by air conditioned 4 wheel drive for 50 minutes through the Ord River Irrigation area and down onto Carlton Hill Station to Macka’s Barra Camp.

Macka’s Barra Camp offers a tour for everyone - from non fisher people, to expert fly and lure casters.

On any day or overnight fishing tour, you will be taken into tidal reaches of the Lower Ord River to maximise your saltwater Barramundi fishing time. This could mean travelling to areas adjacent to the mouth of the Ord (up to 80kms) where wildlife is abundant and the scenery is unforgettable.

Services & Facilities

All transport from Kununurra to Mack’s Barra Camp is provided. Fishing Vessels are modern customised savage jabiru punts designed for practical fishing. All boats are fully carpeted and fitted with comfortable swivel chair seating and shade canopies.

Tours are fully guided and modern tackle and equipment is supplied. Conventional lure and bait methods are used and fly fishermen are especially welcome.

Camp facilities include hot and cold showers along with push button flush toilets.
