Fishing Tips

Staying at the Remote Camp or a combination of Resort/Camp instead of the Resort in Bamaga is a great experience. It also saves many hours of travel time over the time of the trip

Cape York Rod & Rifle Safaris - QLD

Accessible most of the year round by air, you can experience Cape York and its remoteness at times that suit you.

Seasonal changes are vividly reflected in the varied landscapes and no time is more striking than the Green Season from November to March. The average daytime temperature is a comfortable 27 degrees C, with intermittent rainfalls leaving the environment fresh and the air filled with a fragrance of newly cleansed rainforest.
During the Dry Season (April to November) seemingly endless days of clear skies give way to nights that offer uninterrupted celestial views.

Situated where the Indian and Pacific Oceans meet, Cape York is renowned for its year round fishing, with protected waters always accessible. Fish one of the many pristine wilderness areas. The Jardine and Jackey Jackey River systems hold many tropical sportfish including Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Saratoga, Fingermark Bream, Threadfin Salmon, Queenfish and Trevally. Blue water fishing is also an option to give you the variety seldom matched anywhere in the world. Spanish Mackeral, various Tunas, Barracuda and Coral Trout are a few of the more popular species.
