The Lodge
Only a short 45 minute flight from Darwin travelling over the spectacular "Top End" coastline has you arriving at Cape Don, on the Cobourg Peninsula, ready for your adventures to begin.
Accommodation is within a renovated lighthouse keeper's homestead. The historic Cape Don Lighthouse was built in 1916 and is still in operation today. The Lodge offers the charm of the past era with the addition of modern facilities to provide a comfortable rest after an exhilarating day of adventures.
Lodge facilities include:

. Computer and large Plasma TV that enables you to view your fishing photos and videos live on the big screen each night.

. Large sweeping verandas with comfortable reclining deck chairs to relax in after a days fishing.

. Fully serviced guest bedrooms which include Kingsize beds, fan over each bed, fridge, wardrobe, chest draws and bedside tables. Five bedrooms - 3 twins, 1 triple and 1 quad room.

. Reasonable alcohol prices. Order your beer by the cartoon and spirits and wine by the bottle, all of which will be conveniently stored in your rooms fridge. Extra stock carried on site.

The Boats
Our guided fishing reputation relies upon our expert guides and high standard of boating and fishing equipment. Our selection of modern, fully equiped boats enables us to best match the group size with the most suitable boat size for the various types of fishing available. Whether the target species is Barramundi or Spanish Mackerel, we have the boat and equipment to suit.
We currently run a fleet of 4 boats ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 metres. All boats underwent a complete refit early in 2008 and all had new Yamaha 150's fitted in June 2008.
The boats feature:
150hp Yamaha 4 stroke outboards
Centre console with tri-beam sounders, GPS and VHF marine radios
Swivel cushioned chairs
Large casting platform at bow and two platforms at stern
Additional seat positions for bow and stern casting
Collapsible canopy to provide shade when needed
Under floor fuel tanks to allow more more in the boat
Equipped with all required marine safety gear.
The Fishing
Whether you prefer bluewater, creek or reef or whether you convential or fly fish, Cape Don has it all. With the assistance of our experienced guides and quality boats, you will be taken to the best locations for a fishing experience of a lifetime.
The variety of fish habitats allows the fisherman to experience our nearby sand cays, mangrove lined creeks, sandy beaches, offshore rocky outcrops and of course the spectacular reef, close by to Cape Don.
Prominent species include Spanish Mackerel, Queensfish, Trevally, Barramundi, Jewfish, Mangrove Jack, Golden Snapper, Emperor, Coral Trout, Cod and many other species.
Prevalent marine life includes Dolphins, Sea Turtles, Crocodiles, Manta Rays and the fascination Dugong, all of which are protected. Cobourg Peninsula is also a designated bird sanctuary with abundant wildlife.
