Fishing Tips

If Rowley Shoals is the location you want to fish, please be prepared to travel in certain months only! May/June and August/September are some of the better months

Broome - WA

Broome has become recognised as the sailfish capital of the Southern Hemisphere and boasts fantastic grounds, both close in and further out to sea at the Rowley Shoals. Much of the water in these areas are yet to be fished regularly. Who knows how many records there are to be broken?.

The Kimberley is more than 350 million years old and much of it is inaccessible, except by boat.

From this brief description you can already see that three distinct fishing areas exist. Fishing grounds within 1 hour from Broome. The Rowley Shoals (168 nautical miles west of Broome) and the rugged Kimberley coast line.

Rowley Shoals is on the edge of the Continental Shelf and is a series of three coral atolls that rise from the depths. We anchor within the protection of a circular reef and fish to our hearts content for Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Mackerel, Wahoo and a host of reef fish.

The Kimberley coast has some magnificent country that is rarely seen. You can explore the many tidal creeks, headlands and rivers that abound with Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark Bream, Queenfish, Giant Trevally and Mackerel.
