Alaska's Wilderness Lodge

Welcome to a perfect place where only a few privileged people will ever set foot - Alaska’s Wilderness Lodge, in the midst of the greatest trophy fishing wilderness in the world. Alaska's Wilderness Lodge is on the shores of Lake Clark, 180 air miles southwest of Anchorage. The awesome beauty of this relatively inaccessible part of Alaska - the majestic mountains, glaciers, rivers and lakes - is protected forever as Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. The area, however, has been heavily populated for thousands of years, since the last major volcanic rearrangement of the land. That is to say, this place is called home by hundreds of Grizzly Bears, Caribou, Dall Sheep, Eagles, Moose, Seals, Red Fox, Birds and Fish.

Fishing here is beyond your wildest dreams. Your host and staff have worked relentlessly over the years to perfect your fishing adventure and make it a magic blend of wild and wonderful.

Fish are here in stunning abundance and record-breaking trophies are not only possible, they're probable. Trophy mounts are easily arranged in our tackle shop.

The Pacific salmon begin their migration runs with the mighty King. Starting about June 15 through July, gigantic King Salmon enter the rivers throughout the Bristol Bay watershed. The longest and strongest run is next with Sockeye Salmon. Then come the Chums, Pinks (Humpies) and, for the grand finale of the Salmon fishing season, hold on to your rod for the ones that fight fiercely on top of the water - 8 to 20 lb. Coho or Silvers. On medium tackle, they're formidable.

Throughout the season, catch predacious Northern Pike and Lake Trout right in front of the Lodge. You can catch gigantic Rainbow Trout, Steelhead, hard-fighting Arctic Char and the iridescent Arctic Grayling. We support the release of all fresh water species.

Lodge: Your comfort is important to us. So we always take that extra step for your complete satisfaction. Our lodge provides amenities unique for a location so remote. Lakeside private cabins with bath and shower, comfortable beds and daily maid service. The main lodge with its view of MT’Tanalian has an inviting fireplace lounge, friendly dining room, and an upstairs recreation and entertainment centre for your after hours enjoyment, along with a relaxing sauna for those sore fishing muscles. We operate a complete tackle and gift shop, too. The lodge's gourmet chefs carefully design the menu to satisfy both your palate and your desire for hearty and delicious meals with an Alaskan flair. Hot home baked breads and fresh cookies tantalise your taste buds daily. Breakfast cooked to order is served at 6.30 A.M. When you return from fishing, we serve our special hors d’oeuvers and have ice, mixer and glasses ready for you in our recreation centre bar. Dinner is imaginative and flavourful and dessert presentations an event not to be missed! Each evening we select a fine wine to complement your meal. (If you have dietary considerations, we're eager to please.)

Guide: Every day from early June through early October, and our professional pilots/guides fly you out in a float equipped aircraft to trophy fishing waters within 120 miles radius of the Lodge - that's almost all of southwest Alaska!
